[ARCHIVED] Suspicious person investigation

Patches

At 10:22 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2018, West Fargo police officers responded to the 1000 block of 3 1/2 Avenue E. to investigate a suspicious person.

Officers arrived and observed a male passed out but breathing in a black passenger car. Officers approached and saw a weapon sitting in the man's lab, which was removed for officer safety. Officers then administered a sternal rub to rouse the male. He awoke and during questioning gave officers fake personal information.

After a brief questioning, the suspect started the car and fled from police. Officers began to pursue the vehicle into Fargo but ended the pursuit for public safety due to speed reaching more than 90 mph and the suspect's erratic driving.

No officers or civilians were harmed in the initial contact or pursuit of the suspect vehicle.

It is believed that the suspect is involved in multiple other current investigations around the Fargo-Moorhead area. The investigation continues at this time with possible further charges to follow.
