The West Fargo Public Library is supporting children in need by hosting a tie blanket-making event June 10.
Members of the public are invited to help make tie blankets from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 10 at the West Fargo Public Library. Attendees will make tie blankets to bring warmth and love to local children facing challenging circumstances. Every blanket made during the program will be donated to seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in-need children in the community through the local Project Linus chapter.
The library will provide materials for attendees to create 50 tie blankets but is encouraging makers to donate additional fleece so even more blankets can be made.
“Our goal is to have 100 blankets to donate,” Interim Library Director Kirsten Henagin said. “Project Linus is an amazing program and we want to support them as best we can.”
This event is part of the West Fargo Public Library’s lineup of summer events all embodying the summer reading theme “All Together Now” which celebrates community, friendship, togetherness, and lending a helping hand.
