The West Fargo Public Library is collecting donations of new socks to support the Golden Drive Homeless Kids organization during the month of October. On Oct. 12, the library is showing a free screening of “The Public” a 2018 drama about homelessness that takes place in a public library.
Donations of new socks can be brought to the West Fargo Public Library and placed in the designated donation box during the month of October.
“Golden Drive is a great organization in our community that supports kids experiencing homelessness,” Kirsten Henagin adult services manager said. “For this drive, they are specifically looking for adult-sized socks for older youth, teens and young adults in need in our metro area.”
The West Fargo Public Library will show “The Public” at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12. The screening is free and open to the public. The film is rated PG-13.
“In 2021, 3554 individuals received homeless services in Cass and Clay counties,” Henagin said. “We hope to help bring awareness to the needs of those experiencing homelessness through these programs this October.”
