After a public vote, four pieces created by local artists have been selected for installation on traffic light control boxes in locations on Sheyenne Street.
The public voted on social media on a list curated by the City’s Public Art Advisory Committee from The Arts Partnership’s Blank Spaces catalog. The winners are Beehive by Hannah Stelter; Shane by Nancy Ness; Following the Light by Annett Richter; and Bee by Brandi Malarky.
The art will be installed as vinyl wraps later this spring on boxes in The Lights and The Downtown Yards districts.
This project is a collaboration between the City of West Fargo and The Arts Partnership. It is funded by private sponsors , a North Dakota Council on the Arts grant, and economic development sales tax.
Promoting public art is a key to defining West Fargo’s cultural identity as recommended in the West Fargo 2.0 Comprehensive Plan.
