The City of West Fargo recently promoted Dustin Scott to Assistant City Administrator for public service. Scott has contributed to the City of West Fargo’s engineering services for the past 15 years and most recently served as City Engineer. In his new role, Scott will provide oversight and leadership for the City’s engineering, public works, planning, and business development projects and departments.
“We are excited to bring Dustin’s depth of knowledge and experience to this position,” said City Administrator Tina Fisk. “We know that he will be a collaborative leader that will help guide our departments into West Fargo’s next phase of growth and development.”
Scott is a graduate of West Fargo High School and holds a master of engineering degree from the University of North Dakota. Before starting the City of West Fargo’s engineering department, Scott worked as a Senior Project Manager with Moore Engineering, Inc. focused on providing engineering services for the City of West Fargo. He also gained experience with J-U-B Engineers, Inc. in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, focusing on transportation and structural engineering as well as Houston Engineering, Inc. in Fargo, ND, where he started his career.
Through Scott’s work with the City of West Fargo, he has been directly involved and contributed to important and challenging topics that have faced the City and the surrounding region. These include critical utility and transportation improvements to optimize and expand city services, vital development, and redevelopment projects; the core area infrastructure master plan; the West Fargo 2.0 comprehensive plan; and the decommissioning of the City’s sewage lagoons. Scott has also represented the City of West Fargo on technical committees for the FM Area Diversion, Metro COG Long Range Transportation Plan, and other region-wide infrastructure collaborations.
