The West Fargo Police Department is now accepting applications for the first Senior Safety Academy. The academy will run 9-11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays from April 19 to May 10. Applications are due Friday, April 15 and can be found online and in the West Fargo Police Department lobby.

This free, four-week program is designed to give residents 65 and older the opportunity to learn about the West Fargo Police Department, AARP resources, scam prevention, fire safety, AAA, and more.

“This is another great example of programs sponsored by our COPS Unit that provides critical safety information in a unique, interactive way,” said Assistant Chief Pete Nielsen. “The COPS Unit continues to strengthen relationships with all members of the West Fargo community.”

Applicants must be a resident of West Fargo or currently employed in West Fargo and 65 years and older. The West Fargo Police Department will notify selected applicants. Only chosen and notified applicants can participate in the program.
