[ARCHIVED] West Fargo Fire Department and Police Department host third annual Battle of the Badges blood drive

Battle of the Badges Blood Drive Posts

The West Fargo Fire Department and West Fargo Police Department are teaming up for the third annual Battle of the Badges blood drive competition Tuesday, Dec. 28, Wednesday, Dec. 29, and Thursday, Dec. 30.

This blood drive is a battle between the West Fargo Police and Fire Departments to see who can motivate the most people to donate blood. During the drive, donors will choose which department they would like their blood donation to go toward.

For the last two years, the West Fargo Police Department took home the trophy. “Battle of the Badges is one of our officers’ favorite friendly competitions,” said Police Chief Denis Otterness. “Donating blood is a great way to give back to your community and help others this holiday season.”

“The West Fargo Fire Department sees firsthand the lifesaving impact that blood donors make,” said Fire Chief Dan Fuller. “I encourage everyone to come out and donate, no matter what department you donate toward.”

The blood drive with Vitalant will run from 11:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28 and Wednesday, Dec. 29, and 9 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at the West Fargo Conference Center at the DoubleTree by Hilton (825 E. Beaton Dr.). Vitalant is a non-profit organization and is the sole provider of blood products to 68 hospitals in our region.
