The annual West Fest celebration is returning to the City of West Fargo the week of Sept. 13. This year’s theme, “Our Heroes,” was chosen to honor all of the community members who went above and beyond in the last two years. A variety of events will occur during the week leading up to the Grand Parade at noon Saturday, Sept. 18. Parade registration is now open at https://www.westfargond.gov/1182/Parade-Registration

Event organizers are planning a slightly altered parade route on Sheyenne Street between Fourth Avenue W. and 10th Avenue W. to allow for construction progress to continue along Sheyenne Street, but it will revert to the original parade route if construction progress allows. Maps will be published on www.westfargond.gov/WestFest and the Facebook event.

“The City of West Fargo and our event management partners, West Fargo Events, continue to work diligently to offer great community events to our residents during reconstruction on Sheyenne Street,” said Mark Simmons, West Fargo City Commissioner and president of the West Fargo Events board of directors. “It is important to continue these community traditions, even while we deal with some temporary inconveniences.”

In addition to the parade, Saturday’s events will include a Craft and Vendor Show, Family Fun and street dance in the POW/MIA Plaza. The community is invited to submit their events to add to the week’s schedule at https://www.westfargond.gov/1092/West-Fest-Community-Event-Submission. Updates to the event lineup and the parade route will be posted on social media and the City website.

For more information and updates, visit westfargond.gov/762/West-Fest or follow the @CityofWestFargo or @WestFargoEvents on social media. The City of West Fargo and West Fargo Events will release updates and an alternative plan if COVID-19 conditions prohibit the event from safely occurring.
