During the March 1, 2021, City Commission meeting, City Administrator Tina Fisk, announced that Tim Solberg, current Planning Director, has been promoted to Assistant City Administrator. In this new position, Solberg will provide leadership, oversight and direction to the economic development, planning, engineering and public works departments.
“We have had many major development projects in West Fargo over the last 10 years, and we anticipate more to come,” said City Administrator Tina Fisk. “This position will help bring together the departments that play a major role in these projects.”

During this time Solberg led the West Fargo 2.0 comprehensive plan and implementation process, and updated the department to include GIS, building inspections and code enforcement.
“I have a tremendous amount of respect for the City of West Fargo leadership in all departments and I am excited to work with them to continuously improve West Fargo,” said Solberg. “I am motivated to find efficiencies that benefit the City in time and resources and ensure staff have meaningful work.”
Solberg also served as a County Planner for Cass County where he served as a planning section chief for the major flood disasters of 2009, 2010 and 2011, and became a resource for floods, planning and transportation issues. Solberg holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Dakota and has completed graduate-level courses for community and urban development.
Solberg’s start date or the process to fill his previous position has not yet been determined.
