[ARCHIVED] West Fargo Veterans Day garbage schedule and seasonal updates

In observation of Veterans Day, there will be no garbage collected in the City of West Fargo Friday, Nov. 10. The police department lobby, city hall and public works department will also be closed. Garbage regularly scheduled for Friday collection will instead be picked up Thursday, Nov. 9. Recycling, which is collected by Waste Management, Inc., will remain the same.

As windy winter weather approaches, the sanitation department would like to provide residents with a few tips for locating missing garbage and recycling bins after a storm. First, look around your neighborhood in trees, ditches, fences and backyards for the missing bins. Next, talk to your neighbors and ask if they picked up an extra bin. It is also a good idea to label your bins with your address using adhesive numbers to identify your bin. The numbers already on your bin do not correspond with your address.

If after one week you are unable to find your garbage or recycling bin and have checked with neighbors you can call to arrange for a replacement bin. For garbage bins, please call the City of West Fargo sanitation department at 701-433-5400. For recycling bins, call Waste Management, Inc. at 1-888-960-0008 or 701-277-0714.

The sanitation department has also suspended curbside brand disposal service for the winter. Residents can bring branches to the transfer station at 1620 Main Avenue W. in West Fargo until the curbside service returns in the spring.
