[ARCHIVED] West Fargo Park District confirms special assessment allocation for two improvement projects

The West Fargo Park District confirmed the special assessments for the following projects during the Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2020, meeting:

Information about these projects is available through the West Fargo Park District. Once the West Fargo Park District confirms the special assessments, the City of West Fargo certifies the special assessment amounts to Cass County the following day.

The special assessment balance for each projects is now available to view per property at Certified special assessments may be paid interest-free for the first 10 days after they become certified by contacting the City of West Fargo Finance Department at (701) 433-5300. The interest-free payment window for these projects is Oct. 15, 2020, through Friday, Oct. 26, 2020. Only special certified assessments can be paid. Pending special assessments are estimates only.

Following those 10 days, the City will amortize the principal amount over a 20-year term and interest will accrue on the outstanding balance. An annual special assessment installment payment is included in the property owner’s Cass County consolidated tax statement and due with property taxes. 

If a landowner is still aggrieved with the special assessment allocation list after it is confirmed by the West Fargo Park District, they may appeal to a district court.
