Xcel energy is conducting soil sampling for a future gas main project Thursday, Oct. 22, and Friday, Oct. 23. Drill sites will be along the Ninth Street/Veterans Boulevard corridor, spanning from Seventh Avenue NE south to Interstate 94.

Work will include drilling into the ground for soil samples using a 1 1/2” rod. All holes will be sealed and concrete will be replaced at each drill site. Motorists will encounter congestion with lane closures possible. Traffic flow flaggers, road work signs and cones will be utilized to guide motorists.

Motorists in these areas may encounter congestion and delays during the morning and evening commutes and should adjust their travel plans accordingly. Always use the ‘S’ check when traveling in and around construction areas – check your speed, space and stress.
