Road closures for concrete repairs to begin Monday, Sept. 28

A concrete repair project in West Fargo will begin Tuesday, Sept. 29, and cause road closures and other traffic delays at various sites through Friday, Oct. 30.

The first project site is the intersection of Ninth Street E. and Fourth Avenue E., near West Fargo City Hall and will begin Monday, Sept. 28. The repairs will focus on the southeast quadrant of the intersection, and close access to travel south to north on Ninth Street E., south on Ninth Street E. to east on Fourth Avenue E. and west to east on Fourth Avenue E. Traffic will detour along Seventh Avenue E., 12th Street E. and Third Avenue E.

Beginning Oct. 5, the Main Avenue frontage road from 21st Street NW to 26th Street NW will also close for repairs. Local access to businesses in the area will remain open during the project. The final site, 31st Avenue E. from Fourth Street E. to Sixth Street E. will start Monday, Oct. 12. This project will include repairs to the intersection of 31st Avenue E. and Sixth Street E. and to parking lanes in project area. Local access will remain open for residents in the area.

Repairs will include concrete removal, additional gravel placement, cleanup and concrete pouring. Each project location will take 7 to 10 days to complete, but weather delays may extend this schedule. In some areas, the road will fully close and detours will be in place.

Motorists detouring around these areas may encounter congestion and delays during the morning and evening commutes and should adjust their travel plans accordingly. Always use the ‘S’ check when traveling in and around construction areas – check your speed, space and stress.
