[ARCHIVED] August’s Cruise Night gets the green light

August Cruise Night

August’s Cruise Night, scheduled from 4:30-9 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 20, gets the green light. Certain state and federal guidelines must be followed during the event, along with a new event structure.

The guidelines in the North Dakota Smart Restart plan and also recommended by city staff include the following, which can be found at this webpage. The August Cruise Night won’t be a cruising event, instead each classic vehicle will be parked for the entire night. Cruise Night typically features 800 cars cruising the streets, but during August’s Cruise Night will be limited to 200 cars parked along the street. Masks are encouraged and will be placed throughout the event, sanitizing and hand-washing stations will be available. If you are experiencing any COVID-19 related symptoms or have been recently exposed to a positive case, do not attend this event.

The City of West Fargo and Toppers Custom Car Club are hosting the event and August’s Cruise Night will be coordinated by West Fargo Events. The West Fargo Police Department and the West Fargo Fire Department will be on-site for safety and the West Fargo Public Works Department help facilitate with sanitization and hand-washing stations.

The City of West Fargo will monitor if the above protocols, found at this webpage are being adhered to. If found they are not, the City will meet with West Fargo Events to discuss altering of events or cancellation of future events.
