West Fargo City Hall and Police Department lobby to reopen to public Monday, June 22

reopen

The City of West Fargo will reopen West Fargo City Hall and Police Department lobby (800 Fourth Ave. E., West Fargo) to the public Monday, June 22, with certain protocols in place. The building has been closed to the public since March due to the coronavirus pandemic but has recently allowed visitors with scheduled appointments and conducted public meetings.

Visitors must use the public entrance located on the north side of the building, review a screening questionnaire and check in at reception for appointments with staff. They will no longer be required to conduct temperature checks. Visitors are also encouraged to continue to social distance themselves and wear cloth face coverings. Meeting rooms will accommodate 75% capacity for attendees.

With this opening, walk-in visitors will be able to make payments at the utility billing and police department areas and drop off medications and sharps in the disposal bins.

The City of West Fargo has been following the state’s color-coded health guidance system, with some modifications, to provide the safest environment to the staff and public. Some departments within the city may have their own policies and procedures to follow, despite the transition to the state’s green/low risk phase.

The West Fargo Municipal Court will continue to hold phone hearings and interactive television (ITV) court hearings until further notice. Individuals with questions are urged to call the City of West Fargo Municipal Court office at 701-433-5516.

In addition to the public opening of the building, internal policies for staff are also changing. Work-related travel will be allowed, but employees will still be required to disinfect shared equipment and meeting rooms after each use.
