All of the free movie screenings at the West Fargo Public Library in December are films based on books.
December's theme for WFPL Monday Matinees is: Book to Screen. Each film begins at 1:30 p.m. at the West Fargo Public Library. Each event is free and open to the public, but limited seating is available. Free popcorn is included.
Dec. 5 - Little Women (2019, PG): "Four sisters learn about love, life, and loss as they grow through their young womanhood against the backdrop of post-Civil War America. At the heart of the family is the headstrong Jo, who aspires, above all else, to forge her own path." Based on the novel by Louisa May Alcott. Rated PG.
Dec. 12 - Nomadland (2020, R): "In the wake of the Great Recession, an aging woman who lost her livelihood begins a solo expedition through the western United States. Converting her van into her living space, she styles herself a contemporary nomad and forges unexpected connections along the way." Based on the book of the same name by Jessica Bruder. Rated R.
Dec. 19 - Death on the Nile (PG-13): "Belgian sleuth Hercule Poirot's Egyptian vacation aboard a glamorous river steamer turns into a terrifying search for a murderer when a picture-perfect couple's idyllic honeymoon is tragically cut short..." Rated PG-13.
