About

The West Fargo Public Library Board of Directors is a volunteer group of five West Fargo residents that is instrumental in long-term planning for library services, advocates for the library's value to community members and stakeholders, oversees library finances, and represents West Fargo community interests as the library develops services and programs. Board members serve a three-year term with an opportunity for a second term possible. The time commitment is roughly 4 hours per month and each member must be a resident of West Fargo.

Current projects and initiatives of the West Fargo Public Library include:

  • Continuing the community input project to study residents' needs and develop library service responses and goals that meet those needs
  • Continuing to grow library outreach efforts like the Little Red Reading Bus, which brings books and learning opportunities directly to West Fargo kids and families in the summer months
  • Redeveloping the longstanding "summer reading program" into a community-driven program for adults, teens and children
  • Continuing to provide patron-focused, proactive customer service by identifying and eliminating barriers for our patrons and ensuring staff have the tools to provide this service
  • Continuing discussions with stakeholders regarding library facilities that will be responsive to how residents want to use their library
  • Celebrating the library's 50th anniversary in 2021
