Controlled Structure Burn in West Fargo Scheduled April 21
A controlled burn in West Fargo of abandoned structures and trees is scheduled for 6 a.m. Friday, April 21. The structures and trees, located north of First Street E. and west of I-94 near the River’s Bend development, are being burned to clear the area for future development.
The burn is expected to last four to five hours and is subject to favorable weather conditions. If weather conditions do not permit the burn Friday, it will be moved to a different date. Residents in the area may see significant smoke during the burn, especially at 6 a.m. as it begins.
This burn has been permitted and approved by the North Dakota Department of Health for asbestos removal and air quality, and permitted by the West Fargo Fire Department. The West Fargo Fire Department will be on-site during the burn to monitor the process and provide equipment for any incidents that may occur.
