Police Programs

The West Fargo Police Department is involved in a number of programs in the community of West Fargo.  Officers and civilian staff enjoy the opportunity to serve in these programs.


Citizen Police Academy 

An excellent opportunity for those who wish to find out what the law enforcement profession involves. Those who enrole take part in 12 weeks of training and ride alongs. You must be at least 18 years old.


Police Explorers Post 281 

Law Enforcement Exploring is a unique career exploration program for young men and women ages 14-20. Exploring provides educational training programs for young adults on the purposes, mission, and objectives of law enforcement.


Night to Unite 

 Every first Tuesday of August, the whole community celebrates Night to Unite at Elmwood Park in West Fargo, ND.   Night to Unite works to strengthen neighborhood and community partnerships. This event is free to the public and the night is packed full of fun educational and informative displays and hands on activities. Come join us! 


Neighborhood Watch Program

The West Fargo Police Department is now beginning the neighborhood watch program. If you and your neighborhood would like to join, contact Officer Orth or Officer Morris at 433-5500.



TRIAD is a three-way partnership among the area chiefs of police, the sheriff and seniors in a community. They agree to work together to reduce the criminal victimization of the elderly and enhance the delivery of law enforcement services to seniors.


Crime Free Multi-Housing

The West Fargo Police Department Crime Free Multi-housing program now takes a comprehensive three phase approach to ensure a safe rental property environment. Phase one provides training to the property owner, property manager and the maintenance staff.
