You may have your water and garbage bill emailed directly to you instead of having a paper copy mailed to your home.

Please email and provide your name and service address to complete the setup process and we will take care of the rest.

Pending specials assessments are ESTIMATED assessments to property for improvement projects which are either under construction or have not been through the final approval processes and hearings. These special assessments are based on estimated costs for project completion and are subject to change. Once the project has been closed and the Special Assessment Committee as well as the City Commission have approved the final special assessments the amounts in the pending column will be removed and approved amounts will be moved to the certified and uncertified balance columns.

Recycling pickup is every other pickup week on the regular day of your pickup. A calendar and other important recycling information is available for you online or at City Hall to track when these days are, items accepted, and drop off sites.

Recycling containers are available for pickup at City Hall. The first container is free of charge.

The CIty offers a number of options for utility bill payment. ACH Direct deposit: in which your bill is paid directly out of your checking or savings account, this option may be started at any time and the form is available on-line or by contacting city hall.

Cash, Check or Money order: Payments can be made at CIty Hall from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. Mailed to our offices at: 800 4th Avenue East Suite 1, West Fargo, ND 58078, or dropped off at one of the two drop box locations: Sunmart Foods entrance, (located at the corner of 13th Avenue and 9th Street East) or at the entrance to City Hall.

Credit or Debit Card: Payments are accepted at anytime on-line, follow the link provided on our web site. They are also accepted by phone or in person. Be aware a convienance fee may be charged for the use of credit or debit cards.

When moving in or out of a location in the City of West Fargo you need to contact the City so we can update our records to assure accurate billing. A move in/move out form will be needed. Click on the attached link to find this form.

The unpaid balance of specials, or uncertified balance, is the balance that remains after the yearly installment is sent to Cass County for payment. The specials balances for properties in West Fargo are available on our website. Be sure to follow the on-screen instructions for entering the parcel number or address correctly.

If you are interested in paying off your specials, please contact the Finance Department at 701-433-5300 for the actual pay off dollar amount as interest accrues on this balance monthly.

If you intend to pay off your specials, please call our office at 701-433-5304 or email us by filling in the email link on this page to receive the proper payoff amount. Interest charges may be less if prepaid. Partial payments are accepted. Payments may be made in person (from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm) or by mail to: City of West Fargo, 800 4th Avenue East, Ste 1, West Fargo ND 58078. Payments may be made in cash, check or money order made payable to the City of West Fargo. The City of West Fargo does not have the information for the Sheyenne Diversion. The Sheyenne Diversion information may be obtained by calling 701-298-2381. There are no specials payments accepted between October 15th and November 1st to allow for the completion of certification of specials installments to Cass County.

City Finance Department

The Finance Department provides financial support services to the entire City government organization. It provides for the fiscal management and processing of all accounting transactions for all City funds. This includes processing accounts payable, accounts receivable, utility billing, and overall risk management. The Department manages the collection of revenues and investment of funds, assists in the issuance of bonds and other indebtedness of the City, and prepares periodic and annual financial and budget reports. The department also coordinates the City's budget compilation and development, manages the administration of special assessments, delivers reliable management information to the departments and assists the public by responding to inquiries and requests.
