13th Avenue and 14th Street Intersection Short-term Closure Begins Monday

14th Street E. temporary closing traffic impacts

Beginning at 6 a.m. on Monday, August 13, the south side of the intersection of 13th Avenue and 14th Street East will have a short-term intersection closure as crews begin work to prepare for concrete pavement on the south side of the intersection. During the short-term intersection closure, motorists are not allowed to turn on to the main line of 13th Avenue from the south side. Project work is expected to last for six days and the intersection will reopen to drivers. Once work is completed the turning movements onto 13th Avenue from the intersection will be restored.

Mainline paving operations will begin early Tuesday, August 14, at 12 a.m. on the south side of 13th Avenue between 17th Street East to 12th Street East. When paving operations first begin there will only be a single lane open for drivers with flaggers directing traffic through the area.

Before morning rush hour, by 7 a.m. crews will reopen the second lane and there will be one lane in each direction again. Drivers should be aware that there will be a heavy presence of concrete trucks in the work zone throughout the morning and should expect delays.

Traffic is currently on the south side of 13th Avenue between 47th Street S and 17th Street E in Fargo and then crosses back over to be carried on the north side of 13th Avenue between 17th Street E and 12th Street E in West Fargo. Traffic on 13th Avenue is carried head-to-head, one lane in each direction, plus turn lanes, in both sections of the work zone.
